A Message From Our Volunteers.

Volunteering is honourable! I am often at awe with the time and effort of others to achieve something that they believe is important. I am thankful that people recognize that “change” is inevitable, but “progress” is not! Progress comes with effort. Throughout my working life, I recognized clearly that the occupation that I was committed to had flaws. Over time, I developed a passion to make things better. I find volunteering to be extremely rewarding and develop a sense of belonging. I volunteer to elevate the police profession in Canada. I will continue to do so because it matters. When my time runs out, I feel much better! Please give us some of your time and donate to help us along! You may feel better.

With your support we will realize what Canadians have said they want: For policing to know more about its historic and current relationship with Indigenous communities, black and people of colour, gender diverse communities, youth, the marginalized and vulnerable – serving with understanding, empathy, and compassion, upholding Charter rights and freedoms.

I’m genuinely happy to be involved with C-CPR as a volunteer because I believe so strongly that the National Centre for Policing Excellence (NCPE) can make a difference for Canadians now and in the future.
Throughout my career and as an entrepreneur, I’ve always been driven by a desire to build safer, more inclusive communities and to advocate for those who often don’t have a voice or a seat at the table. What excites me about the NCPE is its focus on education that not only promotes understanding and accountability but also helps improve access and awareness for marginalized communities. It also brings much-needed attention to critical issues like anti-human trafficking and protecting women and children from domestic violence.
For me, this isn’t just about police education; it’s about helping make a positive impact on well-trained police and giving them the tools and skills they need to succeed in protecting all Canadians but especially marginalized communities in Canada. It’s about creating real, lasting change that helps build a safer, more compassionate Canada for generations to come.

When I first heard of the C-CPR, I initially perceived the organization was concerned with overhauling the police system and was led by concerned citizens seeking dramatic change. However, after volunteering, becoming employed with the C-CPR, conversing with members, and learning more about the mission, I have realized that the C-CPR’s members have a variety of backgrounds, including policing experts and that the organization’s primary focus is on establishing national education standards to elevate police excellence across Canada and assist officers in building stronger, more trusting connections in our communities. If you share in this vision, please consider making a donation today.
Why Give to C-CPR?
C-CPR always has one or two volunteers working on specific projects. We need your support to cover the costs of their work. Chelsea Brown is one of our volunteers and she has attended two events now to learn and to promote her own work in Domestic Violence. She hands out our literature and discusses our work with whomever she encounters. Brochures and travel both cost money. You can help by providing a donation to support volunteer expenses.
We are preparing a superb white paper, thorough and well researched, to make the case to the feds about the National Centre for Policing Excellence. We have a volunteer contributing significant time to this project. Your support will cover an honorarium for Sem’s efforts. (You can read more about Sem during the Giving Tuesday campaign.)
Getting the word out these days cost some money. Usually we advertise our webinars by boosting LinkedIn posts. Lately we have also promoted the webinar videos to increase their impact on Canadians. LinkedIn boosts cost about $100 before each webinar and subsequent YouTube paid promotion costs about $50 to achieve 5 to 10,000 views.
You might ask: “Why paid advertising?” The truth is it makes a difference in how many people learn about police education. Every click on a video or a webinar ad is one more person who understands. These promotions are a reasonable cost to create a multiplier effect for our volunteers’ efforts.
THAT’S WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT ON GIVING TUESDAY! Help us spread the word to Canadians including politicians and police officers. We need the NCPE!
