Celebrating C-CPR Volunteers
Hannah Steffes
(Marketing Officer and Honourary Life Member of C-CPR)
Hannah Steffes is a multidisciplinary graphic designer based in Edmonton, Alberta, and a recent graduate from MacEwan University’s Bachelor of Design program. With a life-long passion for the creative arts, Hannah strives to identify problems, experiment with solutions, and express imaginative ideas in unique ways. Throughout her journey in MacEwan’s Bachelor of Design program, Hannah discovered her passion for branding, photography, and publication design. As she moves forward in her graphic design career, she will actively search for more opportunities to explore, learn, develop, and communicate ideas to others.
In 2022, during her fourth year at MacEwan, she was fortunate to work with the Coalition for Canadian Police Reform (C-CPR) as her community partner for her Capstone Project. Hannah continued to work with the C-CPR as their marketing officer under the Canada Summer Jobs program in the summer of 2023. Following her summer employment, Hannah has continued to volunteer and work for the Coalition for Canadian Police Reform.
Deborah McKinnon

Deborah McKinnon is a fundraising professional with more than 20 years of fund development & leadership experience and a fund development track record credited for raising more than $40M. Ms. McKinnon brings broad experience in leadership and every discipline of fund development including capital campaigns, annual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, planned giving, and events.
A skilled cultivator of teams and relationships, committed to fostering and empowering high-caliber teams. Thrives in forging impactful partnerships with internal units and community stakeholders, rallying diverse factions around a collective pursuit of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
C-CPR is delighted to have the experience and expertise of a non-profit leader guiding our philanthropic efforts since our inception.
Uwana Essien
(Member, Philanthropy Committee)
Uwana Essien has over 12 years of experience as a Communication Specialist. She began her career as a journalist, honing her skills in storytelling, media relations, and content creation. She has collaborated with well-known news organizations, covering a wide range of topics from current events to in-depth investigations. As she transitioned into corporate communications, Uwana utilized her journalistic expertise to develop compelling narratives, manage public relations initiatives and create strategic communication plans. Her ability to simplify complex information into engaging content has made her a valuable asset. Uwana is dedicated to giving back to the community and actively participates in fundraising efforts for charitable causes.
Uwana joined us in May 2024 and we are delighted to have her experience supporting our work.
Anne Joyce Wambui
(Member, Philanthropy Committee)
Anne Joyce Wambui is a dedicated Philanthropic Volunteer for the Coalition for Canadian Police Reform (C-CPR). She seeks grants to support C-CPR’s vital work. With her years of experience in marketing strategy, social media management, and brand development, Joyce brings a wealth of expertise to her role.
Her professional journey includes leading roles at Scope Markets, Fresha Dairy Brands, and Chinabuy in Kenya, where she executed impactful marketing campaigns and managed cross-functional teams. Joyce also contributed to community engagement and project management while working with the Kenyan Canadian Association.
At C-CPR, Anne uses her digital marketing skills to enhance fundraising efforts and promote the coalition’s mission. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Nairobi,
certifications in Advanced Digital Marketing and Social Media Marketing, and is currently pursuing a Digital Marketing Connections course with Humber College. Anne’s commitment to community service fuels her dedication to volunteering at C-CPR.
